N.B. In a fortnight's time Swinton Lions play at home against  the winners of the League One Play-Off Final (Keighley Cougars v Hunslet) with the winner playing in the Championship in 2025 and the loser playing in League One.

York Knights v Fev (Championship Round 26): 21 Man Squads

     Fev and York have both published their squads for Sunday although Fev have only named 20 players. We find it quite difficult to see the potential shape of the teams in the form in which the clubs publish the squads so we just have to use guesswork, whilst taking into consideration the line-ups in each club's last match, to set them out in the traditional manner running from fullback to loose forward and then subs.

fevnut has been researching how long clubs ha ve been playing  at their current location. We have found six clubs who are still at the same location as they were well over 100 years ago. We asked whether you can identify those six clubs? n.b. We have chosen to regard it as continuous when a club has temporarily moved away because of stadium redevelopment. Here are the answers:

  Dewsbury It was never going to be a dramatic game bearing in mind that Dewsbury were well bottom of the table and had already been consigned to relegation. But there were three aspects of the match that were very worthy of note. First of all, there was Ben Reynold’s goal-kicking saga (see below). Second was a wonderful hat trick from Connor Wynne. His performances seem to get better and better and his defence has improved dramatically. It was Connor’s second hat trick for Fev, the first being against Halifax in May. It was also the first hat trick by a Fev player since Brad Day’s against Whitehaven in early July. We said that there were three aspects of the match that were worthy of note and we have saved the best until last. What a joy it was to see Thomas Lacans take his place back in the team line-up after such a long lay-off.
