T'Other Side: London Broncos
Head Coach: Mike Eccles
We know very little about Mike Eccles and can find no record of
him playing professionally.
He has been at London Broncos since 2012, originally as Strength
and Conditioning Coach. In 2013 he
became Head of Strength and Conditioning and then Head of Performance in 2016.
In May of 2022, when Tom Tsang departed, he was appointed as
caretaker coach and then was appointed Head Coach in September last year.
Captain: Will Lovell
Jay Pitts was the Broncos captain in 2018 and 2019 but he moved on to Wakefield Trinity and Will Lovell took over. Will was born in Northampton and he has spent his entire playing career with London Broncos, making his début in 2012. He has also played for London Skolars on dual reg in the four years 2013 - 2016.
He has played almost exclusively in the second row or at centre although in 2022 he did play occasionally at prop or loose forward. So far this year all his appearances have been in the second row.
Loan
signings and Dual registration
Broncos have Jacob Jones and Jacob Gannon on loan
from Leigh Leopards during this season.
They have a dual registration agreement with Wigan
Warriors and it has led to appearances from Wigan players Zach Eckersley,
Harvie Hill, Harvey Makin, Abbas Miski, Ramon Silva and Kieran Tyrer.
As far as we know, Ramon Silva is the only Brazilian
born player ever to play professional rugby league in England.
The
Fev Connection
The
Fev Connection
Amongst the list of players of who have played for
both Fev and Fulham (the original name for what is now the London Broncos) you
will find John Crossley and Neil Tuffs.
John Crossley, a half-back or centre, began his
career with Wakefield Trinity in 1976. He went on to play for Castleford, York,
Fulham (1979-81), Bradford and Halifax before joining Fev in 1986 where played
his last 3 seasons. His Fev career yielded 66 appearances and 18 tries.
Neil Tuffs (also a stand-off or centre) began his
career with Fev at the age of 20 in 1974. He joined Fulham in 1980 and after
three seasons there he signed for new club Kent Invicta for the 1983-84 season.
But, during the season he left Kent Invicta and came back to play one last game
for Rovers in January 1984. His Fev career involved playing 128 games, scoring
25 tries, kicking 61 goals and a drop-goal for a total of 1998 points.
