A fevnut special: Who is Zach Fishwick?

Those of you who have looked at the squad Fev have announced for the Challenge Cup tie against Wakefield Trinity will probably have noticed the name Zach Fishwick on the list.

He is a Hull KR player who has, presumably, arrived on dual reg.

As we write this (Friday) he is still only 18 years old although by the time we get to the match on Sunday he will be 19 (his birthday is on Saturday!).

He is a prop forward and looks like one as you can see from the photo.

He didn’t play in the Hull KR first team last year but he did play seven games in 2022. He made his début against Hull FC at Magic Weekend in Newcastle3 at the age of 17 years and 123 days, making him the youngest player ever for Hull KR in the Super League Era. They didn’t wait for ‘easy’ games to give him a chance. Those seven games in which he played included 2 Hull derbies, 2 games against Wigan and 1 against St. Helens.

He was a starter in one of the Wigan games and in the other he scored a try in a match that Hull KR won 38-28.
