On July 13th 2014, Brad Day scored the first hat trick of his career (the second being last Sunday). He was playing for York City Knights in a Championship One fixture away at Oxford.

 

We asked you what very famous, but not rugby league, historic sporting occasion occurred at the same location a couple of months over 70 years previously?

 

Answer: Roger Bannister ran the first ever sub-4 minute mile (3 minutes 59.4 seconds) on May 6th, 1954. It was deemed to be such a potentially ground-breaking event that it was televised live by the BBC.
