We posted this list of past and present clubs and asked what they have in common that distinguishes them from all other clubs.

n.b. It is our usual practice when listing club names to use the most recent names of current clubs.

These are the clubs, through Rugby League's history from 1895 to the present day, that have finished the season at the top of the league table. For many years there was only one division but whenever there has been more than one we have only included the club finishing at the head of the top division.

Note: There have been a few seasons when there were separate Lancashire and Yorkshire leagues. We combined them using the 'Win Percentage' method to produce an overall winner.
