T'Other Side: Waterhead Warriors
Trying to put together details of their squad has proved very difficult and the only information we have been able to glean is from their 1st round tie against Leigh Miners Rangers. We had two sources for their team in that match (BBC and RFL Match Centre) but their were many discrepancies between them. We have gone with the BBC version but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of that, particularly with regard to positions. For what it is worth here it is:
We watched the game on the BBC iPlayer and their pack seemed strong and their scrum half (Kegan Brennan) was speedy and very creative and we thought he was the Man of the Match. A talented young man who is also the lead singer of a local rock band!
Waterhead have been playing since 1920 and have had a remarkable last few years. In 2022 they played in National Conference League 3 and gained promotion to National Conference League 2. In 2023 they gained promotion to National Conference League 1 and they finished as Champions in 2024 so will be in the National Conference Premier Division in 2025.Not bad! Three promotions in three years.
