T'Other Side: Ince Rose Bridge
Usually
we produce pages entitled ‘T’Other’ Side’ and ‘Past Matches’ about our next
opponents. However, as far as we can ascertain, Featherstone Rovers have never
previously played against Ince Rose Bridge and the amount of information we
have been able to garner about Ince Rose Bridge is far less than we usually put
together.
A
Bit of History
Ince
Rose Bridge rugby league team started life in 1926 and they are based in the
town of Ince-in Makerfield. It is a very strong rugby league area and is within
the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan but it also borders upon the Metropolitan
Borough of St. Helens.
Last season they finished third in the National Conference Division 1, which was won by Waterhead Warriors, our previous opponents.
Finishing
third, they went into the play-offs contested by the teams finishing third to
sixth with the play-off winners getting promotion to the Premier Division. In
the play-off semi-finals they beat Crosfields 48-12 but in the final they lost
to Dewsbury Moor Maroons by 16-10. That match was played at Post Office Road
so, although Fev have never played them, it is not their first visit to our
ground.
Ince
Rose Bridge in the Challenge Cup
Their
first year in the Challenge Cup was in 2004 and the match against Fev will be
their tenth.
2025
Squad
We
do not have a full list of Ince’s 2025 squad, but this is the team that
defeated Blackbrook in Round 2 a couple of weeks ago
